Grades Enrichment | Farm & Forest
Held in the environment of an outdoor classroom, farm, forest and local natural spaces, children are lifted up to meet the rising excitement, wonder and joy of discovering the world around them, within them and their own abilities. Supporting homeschooling and unschooling families from a Waldorf rhythm and focus – learning happens organically through the seasons through developmentally appropriate themes.
Waldorf Grades Enrichment
Guided by the rhythms of the land & daily life connected to the natural world – Grades Enrichment | Farm & Forest shares practical and back to roots skills around the forest, gardens and surrounding natural areas that support hands on application of math, science, languages, art and more. Learning happens through emerging themes such as biodynamic gardening, herbalism, fiber arts, building and Earth based education among others. Children build connection to the land, and experience intuitive growth, understanding and collaboration and connection within themselves and each other as we go through the seasons together.
Following a series of themes inspired and guided by the land and changing seasons – our main lessons are supported in a holistic manner, building an emotional and hands on connection to learning. There are no textbooks – rather, each student artfully and carefully creates their own Main Lesson books guided by their own understanding of the information provided by the teacher, supplemented with gently guided direction. Seasonal field trips bring the community connection in to fully support the ongoing topics.
